Oh well!

I had actually forgotten that I even had a blog. Oh well,  just shows you what happens when you are actually doing real things.

Weight Loss - the Awful Truth

The topic of weight-loss and diets is one that’s close to my heart and (it has to be said) many of my colleagues at Harley Street. Many people comment that the secret of weight loss is “eat less and move more” otherwise known as the thermodynamic model.

The awful truth is that to really lose weight, most people (excluding those with an eating disorder) need to eat a hell of a lot less and move a hell of a lot more. Further, they need to do this consistently for a long time. This means real mental toughness to go to the gym or exercise very regularly, plus keep to a sensible diet. In short, the only thing that works…is work.

So you’re a hypnotherapist

I’m currently attending some training and personal development trade exhibitions as it’s always good to see what others are doing. This usually involves some networking and introductions where people ask each other “what do you do?” in order to find out about you and more importantly whether they can sell you something. When going to these events I have to prepare for the inevitable responses of people when I tell them I’m a hypnotherapist. Here are some example responses that are particularly irksome and require Mental Toughness:

Some people immediately cover their eyes with their hands

Ask whether I can control people’s minds

Check that they still have their watch and wallet

Ask if I really believe people can be hypnotised

Ask if it’s similar to gynaecology

And Then...

It’s about time I created a blog; however a large part of what I do is listening to others. Therefore if you have anything to add on here about mental toughness or life in general, then please feel free to air your thoughts. We all need to learn from our fellow travellers on this journey we call life.
